What is Essential is Invisible to the Eye: Works of Lyota Yagi

What is Essential is Invisible to the Eye: Works of Lyota Yagi is a solo exhibition of Lyota Yagi’s works from 2005 – 2016.  Known for his practice that encompasses sound, sculpture, video, installation and interactive art, Lyota examines the characteristics of an artistic medium or object, deconstructing their conventional modes of usage and reception. As such, seen in his works can be the transformation of magnetic tape into text, music made of a near impossible material, or rock art that conjures the imagination of its indeterminable age, and they serve to provide ways of encountering that which may be inherently known, but often unseen.
