Technology and its devices have often mediated our reception of the real. In recent times, however, the nature of what is ‘real’ has increasingly become cause for suspect, and grounds for artists to relook prescribed beliefs. It is this condition of uncertainty that the exhibition Exceptions of Rule attends to, featuring works which reevaluate the relativity of subscribed truths and reality.
